'Pearls Before Swine'
I think I am on the verge of giving up. Training chefs was bad enough, but trying to pass on information to the general public? Aaaaargggh!! I recently published an article on Qassia about Cooking With Wine. I went to some lengths to explain that you can cook your food with any good quality wine you like, regardless of color, but be sure to serve the same wine with the meal. This is the very first comment I got from someone who, presumably, had read that article: "I would like the author to mention what food to be cooked in Red wine and what in white wine. Few examles (sic) would be good." Okay, here goes (deep breath) any food that can be cooked in wine can be cooked in red wine. Any food that can be cooked in wine can be cooked in white wine. Any food that can be cooked in wine can be cooked in any colored wine you can think of including sky-blue pink! Red wine will color your food red - or at least pink. Therefore, if you don't want that to happen don't use red wine. That apart, the color of the wine doesn't matter it's the flavor that counts!!! Small %#&@ing wonder Gordon '%#&@ing' Ramsey has hissy fits! :-) |
