Kitchen Tips: Preventing Burnt Pans

If a saucepan dries out while being used as a steamer the results can be catastrophic for the pan, the food being cooked in it and the air quality in the rest of the house.

The easiest way to avoid this is to put a couple of marbles or small stones in the bottom of the pan before you begin cooking. If the water level drops too low the racket they make will alert you, the dog, the cat and even next door's budgie.
