Kitchen Tips: Keeping Herbs Fresh
There is no substitute for fresh herbs, but they are frequently sold in quantities too large for one meal. So, how to keep them fresh? They will keep very well for a week or more if you first wrap them in a cotton cloth soaked with cold water, and then store them in the crisper compartment of the fridge. Make certain that the cloth stays damp. You can also successfully freeze them by putting them into an ice cube tray, covering them with water and freezing. They will keep for months and you can simply take out as many cubes as you need to flavor your dish. |
