Kitchen Tips: Decorating With Cabbage
Dinner parties are fun and it’s always nice to have something a little different on the table. Like a cabbage bowl for the potatoes, for instance. To make it, use a sharp knife to carefully remove the globe of a cabbage from its outside leaves, so that they remain in one piece. Wash them and then steam them for about five minutes, then plunge into iced water. This last step is important to stop the cabbage cooking and to 'fix' the color. When you are ready to use it, carefully drain and dry the case, then use it to line a serving bowl of about the same size. Simple. Very effective. |
