Kitchen Tips: Cauliflower
Cauliflower is one of those vegetables that can be fairly bland with little flavor of its own. That's partly because we tend to throw the tasty bits away. You will find that if you add a few of the green leaves to the pot when cooking cauliflower it really does make a pleasant difference to the flavor. And while we're on the subject of cauliflower, please remember that it's one of those vegetables that will keep on cooking even after you have drained it. So, cook it for no longer than 5 minutes in boiling salted water and after you have strained it, plunge it into cold water unless you are going to use it straight away |
